Hi,
Our SKMM will be hosting the World Radiocommunication Conference in 2011. Amongst the matters to be discussed would be the allocation of frequencies for radio amateur operators.
An oppurtunity arises for members of the community to take part in the matter and our working group would be group 2. click on the link provided to find out more on the matter.
Also for those that wish to open the band width for 9W's this is the time to do so, join in the working group or send me your suggestions on the matter and if I am selected to be in the working group I will table your suggestions to the working group. As it is, I personally feel that passing the CW examinations only should not be the criteria for a wider and higher bandwidth allocation. If it was passing the CW examinations and sitting for an advanced radio electronics test then it would not be so bad.cheers mate ... :)

Thanks for the news.
Whoever wants to attend and participate in this working group must be experienced
enough to know how WARC works. The ins and out of amateur radio, not some born yesterday amateurs. Whatever proposals made must be inline with IARU Region 3.
If you intend to warm up the seat please think 40 times. Dont waste yout time and also dont jeopardise amateur radio.
A few years ago we had 1 half baked 9M2 and 2 9W2 who attended this working group( 1 Indian, 1 chinese , 1 malay). They were not nominated by MARTS but went there on their own initiatve but they had no directions... just warming up the seats. I hope this does not happem again. It would be proper for MARTS to select competent members to represent them. I feel present council members do not have that calibre
Thank you.
Allow me to make a few comments.
This working group is to assist MCMC for the preparion of WRC 2011,The people who attend WRC are licencing authorities from all over the world together with IARU region 1,2, and 3 reps.
The allocation for frequencies that can be operated by 9W lies entirely with MCMC. World Radio Conference do not dabble in this matter. It is the perogative of MCMC.MCMC can decide anytime to give 40m or any other bands to 9W .
If MCMC does not care, then societies must push for it.MARTS.. the ball is at your feet.
If I am not wrong, the 3 kusketeers who went to the Working group were Suresh9M2SQ, Zul 9W2AC and Batsy Cheah 9W2CP.
Ask them what did they do .,,,
doing threesome.
sikit sikit tau
Anybody interested to represent the amateur radio community in this working group, please purchase a copy of the Radio Regulations from ITU.It may not cost a bomb at least that of a hand granade. Without this so called " bible" in your hand you will be a listener of the working group rather than a paricipant.
May I suggest MARTS buy a copy.
If you want an obsolete version ask Sangat Singh 9M2SS.
