AMENDMENTS TO THE MARTS CONSTITUTION

Hi again,

My last posting seems to generate some 'special' remarks from interested parties. So to keep the matter in perspective, i will try to get in touch with the powers that be at SKMM and our friends there on what is happening so that i can put in on the blog.

This time though, (i wonder if it is another controversial area) on the subject of amending the constitution. I recall there was a move towards amending the constitution and that the Registrar of Societies Malaysia rejected the proposed amendments.

Perhaps you could give me your suggestions on what areas of the constitution should be amended or reviewed or we just keep it in the present form?

what say you? let me have your ideas on the matter

MARTS was established more than 50 years ago. It originally catered for a membership of less than 50.
In the late sixties and early 70s,
members who attended AGM wil be around 20 t0 30 persons. The atmosphere at the AGM was warm and friendly. We may have a hot debate but after that all will ajourn for a beer and situation will normalise.Unlike now hatred , revenge will follow suit. The ham spirit is gone.
MARTS constituition have undergone a few changes since it formation but mainly on its subscription rates and minor parts.
Amateur radio have grown in leaps and bound ever since, so is the MARTS membership.WE need a total review to cater for present and future vision. No one person can do it. We need a group, young and experienced members to form a committee to look into it.I dont see many volunteers but I am sure there will be someone , somewhere who is willing to sacrifice a bit of time to do this review.. Again it is at The MARTS council feet..
keep the ball rolling or wait until your term expires.
