Donation/Collections for repair of RKK

Hi All,

I have been informed by our Repeater Manager 9M2CJ that the team has managed to determine the transmission fault of RKK and the cost to repair the fault would be around RM450.00. As your Central Committee is not in a position to pay for the repairs (you know why lah - Central Committee cannot collect funds from members - National Council tak bagi meh) 9M2CJ has suggested that we pass the hat around to collect donations/grants/sedekah/contributions in order to pay for the repairs.

So collections will be held at our usual watering hole at Maulana and Warisan Maju at TTDI. I am informed and sincerely believe 9W2AXE will be in charge of collections and I do hope you contribute generously.

Why not wait for National Council pay for it? If you ask that question then I guess you do not know the answer to it. All I can say to those who ask the question is "IN YOUR DREAMS". No offence meant but that is the reality of it.

So do donate and please do not make any comments or criticisms on the matter.

RKK down

Hi All,

A piece of sad news - no not that MJ and FF died - our old lady RKK is down. A fault has been traced to the transmitter and our repeater manager 9M2CJ has brougt it down for repairs.

I know I know that the RKK is famous for its elegant silence but like any insurance policy that we take - we need the old lady to be up and running for our use.

So any assistance in repairing the old lady is appreciated - contact 9M2CJ for details.

RKK UP AGAIN

I have been informed by our repeater manager 9M2CJ that the RKK is up and running. As to whether it is operating with the new antenna and cable remains to be seen but rest assured that I will keep you updated.

Temporary RKK

Hi

The temporary repeater for RKK was set up for a specific purpose and the specific purpose has come to and end. For the curious, the specific event was for the ending of bachelor days for our good friend and comrade 9W2ICE.

Please bear with us whilst we sort out the temporary repeater pending repairs and in the meantime please use RUK for your daily dose of on air communications.

UPDATES ON THE RKK SAGA

Hi All

At the AGM held in Bachok, I had a discussion on the matter with our President and relevant Council Member and I am happy to report as follows:

1. The antenna to be delivered for RKK is a folded diopole:
2. The cable to be supplied will be 150 meters and RG8.

The items will be collected by 9W2SBS from Penang as and when notified by the Council Member in charge of repeaters.

So hang on there.
